Course Selection Post

There was a course selection fair on Wednesday which got me interested in sewing, woodcraft and visual art. I got interested on sewing and woodcraft because I personally love making stuffs with my hands. I also really enjoy drawing anime characters so I want to take art to get better at drawing. For more information I can go to Ms Krishnan at room 115 for sewing, Mr Savory or Mr Lim for woodcraft and Ms Nickel at room 125 for art. These electives can be a great hobby for the future.

Hi it's been like a couple days since the wednesday double block and I haven't had a computer for a couple days so I've forgotten what we did. If anyone could comment below and remind me what we did in the first period it would be very well appreciated! Thank you.

Learning blog for December 17 block 2

What:
 In the second block of humanities we worked on our book reviews and if we were not done our paragraph booklet we worked on this too. We also worked on our commercial about our books as if we were trying to sell them.

Why:
We did our book reviews to give us information about the book to advrative it with. We did the commercial to show mrs.lees that we understand and can show that we know. It gives us a chance to have a fun book review commercial instead of having to write a tests about it.

Homework:
Finish your paragraph booklet if you are not done and finish your commercial in flex but we are getting time during class tomorrow.

Sorry for the late learning blog I couldn't access to a computer on Monday:(

what did we do
On Monday we worked on our paragraph booklet number 3 expository paragraph and number 4 persuasive paragraph exercise. Expository paragraph is when it gives lots a information with details, accurate and organised. Persuasive paragraph is when a paragraph argues a point and convince them to think in a different way.

learning intentions
We do paragraph booklet so our paragraphs are very strong and writing lots of paragraphs  leads to good essays and more.
connections
Connections beyond humanities are that we use paragraphs all the time and having to write a proper paragraph will help when we grow up!
homework
Administrators! I think we should decorate our blog like other classmates' group blogs.

Exercise for expository paragraph and persuasive paragraphs.

What

Today in humanities we did the pros and cons for our book and lets Ms. Lees review them. We also used are pros and cons to make up a script to make a commercial. The commercial was to sell our book to target audiences.

Why

We do the pros and cons to build our reading skills and critiquing skills. We film in groups to build our collaborative skills. Most of the reasons for both of them are to build up reading skills.

Homework

The homework is to finish all the paragraphs in the booklet with outlines and brainstorming. Tomorrow you must finish the filming.

Homework tips

Tomorrow you can come early to finish the filming or flex.

Learning Logs 2014-12-12

I am posting this on Sunday because I had forgot to do it on Friday.

What did we do: We did out lit circle discussions with out groups today. Today was the last one as we finished the book today (for my group at least).

Learning Intentions: We did these lit circle discussions to further expand on our understanding of literature and things in literature.

Reflections and Connections: Being able to understand a book very well is helpful in school book reports and reading books yourself. Reading a book for it's action is nice, but reading a book for more than just the action and for the deeper meaning within is very satisfying. Discussing could also help with speaking skills that are needed in the world. Without having good discussion skills than you won't really be able to get any job where you have to be publicly speaking a bit.

Homework Reminders: As far as I know there is no homework due for Monday, except for the three words, a sentence, and the two(three?) critique comments.

Ronald's Three Words

                My three words are activity, organization, focus.

                My first word is activity; I chose this word for the purpose of being more active. In being more active I mean in the community and myself as since the summer ended I have stopped exercising as much and doing good things in the community. I feel that I could be more active in many places

My second word is organization. I chose this word because I need to be more organized in many areas of my life. At home and inside my backpack it is very messy so I feel that I could organize why working spaces better. Organization could also count for time because I organize my time badly. Organizing my time better could help me sleep more, better and have an overall better effect.

My third word is focus. In class sometimes I won’t understand or remember things that we did in class. If I had focused during these times then I could have gotten better marks on almost everything. Focusing better in school can help me with many things not just marks.
